We are audiovisual professionals pioneers in Intimacy Coordination in Spain with experience in more than twenty productions.

we are

Our experience as actresses and audiovisual professionals, and the numerous conversations we had had with other colleagues about the enormous complexity of filming intimate scenes, made it clear to us that it was urgent to rethink how we approached the filming of these scenes in the Spanish audiovisual industry. In 2021 we were selected to be part of an international certification in privacy coordination powered by Netflix's Grow creative programme and delivered by the renowned South African privacy coordination company Safe Sets. During the certification process we received training in essential subjects for our work such as: specific techniques for sexual choreography in fiction, use of genital barriers and protections, consent theory, sexual diversity, mental health first aid, conflict resolution, working with minors, LGTBIQ+ rights, or trauma mitigation, among others. Once our training was completed in October 2021, we decided to start our IntimAct project together, becoming pioneers in Spanish intimacy coordination and the first to be certified as such in Spain. Since then, we have coordinated intimate scenes in more than twenty national and international productions, working with directors such as Daniel Sánchez Arévalo, Alauda Ruíz de Azua, Carlota Pereda, Elena Trapé, Bárbara Farré, David Victori, Aritz Moreno and Elena Martín. Since 2022 we are a member of IPG (The Intimacy Practitioners Guild), the European association for intimacy coordination.

En 2021 fuimos seleccionadas para formar parte de una certificación internacional en coordinación de intimidad impulsada por el programa “Grow creative” de Netflix e impartido por la reconocida compañía sudafricana de coordinación de intimidad Safe Sets.

We believe that sexuality occupies a very important place in the development of our lives, that it is a fundamental place for discovery, play, affection, and connection with other people and with oneself... and that it deserves to occupy that same place in our stories. But, at the same time, it is also a place of great vulnerability and complex terrain, and we believe that as filmmakers we have to live up to this complexity when dealing with it in the workplace, both in front of and behind the cameras.
We advocate normalising intimate scenes within narratives, using them as a narrative tool to further tell the story of the moment each character is going through in the story. The vulnerability that exists in intimate encounters has the potential to bring to light perhaps the most hidden traits of the characters, to uncover unexplored power dynamics, to tell the unspoken with details, caresses, rhythms... Intimate choreography offers an immense expressive potential that can greatly enrich our stories and turn a script annotation into infinite narrative possibilities.

We rely on human exchange in creative processes, what excites us about our industry is the possibility for it to be a space for collaboration between artists from different disciplines. As creators, we put our knowledge in the management and choreography of intimacy at the service of stories, offering an open and honest channel of communication that never overlooks the fact that, ahead of fiction, there are actors and creators who relate to audiovisual material from their own bodies and experiences.

We are aware of the great power of audiovisual language and the enormous impact our stories can have on society. Precisely because of this, we believe that we have the opportunity - and sometimes the responsibility - to take advantage of fiction to make a representation of intimacy that is increasingly diverse, authentic and complex, and in dialogue with the society around us and with which more and more people can feel represented.
